Did Communism ever exist in the world?

Communism refers to a society where there is no class differentiation between the humans and all are equal. It is an egalitarian society which is based on the principle of - “from everyone according to his abilities and to everyone according to his needs”. Hence, in such a society there will be no need of any government and, thus, as is said,”… the state shall wither away…”

The best example of such a society can be sited by considering the Primitive age when man was a food gatherer and hunter. The resources were in plenty and there was, obviously, no conflicts and no classes in the society. In fact, to use the word ‘society’ for that age would not be appropriate. So, yes Communism did exist during this era.

The present world is very complex with diverse societies, races, communities, beliefs, etc. There is lot of scramble for power and scramble. Many great leaders have tried to establish this idea. But, unfortunately, they could reach only the stage of socialism. Communism, in its pure form, has still remained an illusion for the present world.

Many of you will feel that I am wrong because we have Communism in countries like Russia and China among others. But, friends, if you do a little of home work, you will find that even in these countries we have governments and the power is exercised by the so called elites. So how can a society with power elites and state machinery be an example of Communism?

Even if we go into the history and study what Lenin and Mao Ze Dong have done, we will find that all the great leaders could only succeed in establishing the socialist concept of the Marxist theory. Moreover such implementations have also faced large scale violence by the leaders. Gradually, these preachers of Communism became more of dictators. For example, in USSR, power was always in the hands of few. There was another class comprising of bureaucrats, academicians, doctors, lawyers, etc. Common man was a way lower in status to these people.

Friends, Marx was a great humanitarian, Marxism / Communism is humanistic…... Can we call such societies as called Communistic, where violence, elite class and state machinery have always existed?

Karl Marx! I hardly think that this name needs any introduction. For those, who still can’t associate this name, he is the person who challenged the already existing world order and thinking. He was no less than a revolution in himself. Marx traced the evolution of man in five stages:
1.Primitive Communism (when man was a food gatherer and hunter and, hence, no scarcity of resources).
2.Slavery or Slave Owning Society (when man began to have other men as slaves for his work).
3.Feudalism (when the haves were called Feudal Lord and the have-nots as Serfs).
4.Capitalism (the age of capitalists and the working class).
5.Communism.

Karl Marx was contemporary to the Capitalist society. Marx said that human evolution has been a sort of ‘negation of the negations’ when the previous set up of the society has been totally replaced by a new one. He based his theory only on the economic aspect of human life. Though this factor is not the only factor, yet his theory still convinces so many. The capitalists (Bourgeois) and the workers (Proletariats) of the capitalist society had their interests totally antagonistic to each other’s. Taking into consideration the circumstances of that time, when exploitation of workers was at the peak, Marx was never wrong to condemn the Capitalism. He not only detested Capitalism but also gave an alternative in the form of Communism.

Karl Marx kindled a feeling of self importance and fighting for one’s own rights in the Proletariat. I won’t mind in saying that it is only due to the enlightenment of the masses by Marx that today we talk about the welfare of workers. Marx was not pro-Proletariat of one nation. He actually believed in the Proletariats of the world. See how broad his vision was.

Marx’s Communism refers to an egalitarian society where the means of production will be owned by the society and the private property will be gone. It is based on the principle of ‘from everyone according to his abilities and to everyone according to his abilities’. In nutshell Communism is the ultimate goal of Marx’s theory. Marx predicted a revolution by the Proletariats of the world to establish Socialism. Socialism referred to state ownership of means of production. Though Marx proposed a revolution of the masses to counter the Bourgeois, he was also afraid of the Dictatorship of the Proletariats. It could lead to the exploitation of former Bourgeois. This, obviously, depicts the humanitarian aspect of this man.

Marxism, as the theory of Marx is known, is really the best political theory in the history of world politics.

But ‘to err is human…’ Marx’s ideas were pious and intentions, unbiased. The so called Marxists of the world could never do justice to them. We can learn from the example of Lenin, Stalin and Mao Ze Dong. It has been only because everyone of the so called Marxist tried to manipulate the original ideas of Marx as per his needs. Though some of the societies could reach the stage of socialism, communism is still a mirage in its real sense. Now, Communism is termed as a Utopian idea.

Even if we talk about our country, India, almost every Marxist leader is having an industrialist in his home. They talk about Marxism, even preach it… but who will dare to follow it in the real sense. West Bengal, which is considered to be the most communist of all Indian states, is witnessing the Nandigram. Marx never talked about any such method. He never mentioned about having any Marxist party with various levels of organization. The present Marxists are in real sense not the Marxists, but the Lenin and Mao of present world. Marx is just a mascot of earning goodwill. Power, really, corrupts a man.

I want to mention that, given the complexities of the present world, it is not hard to follow Marxism but it is also just impossible to establish the real Communism. Let us start living in the present world where all what is required is a perfect blend of Marxism and Liberalism.

Sting Operations

Sting Operations have given new vistas of operation to media and made our society more vigilant. But it seems that in present scenario, they have lost their real spirit.
Constitutionally, they can be considered to be the 'Breach of Right to Privacy of an individual' (inferred right from article 21 of our constitution). But it won't be wrong to term them as neccessary violations in public interests.

However, in present scenario we may classify the Sting Operations into two types:
1. those Sting Operations which actually expose the defaulters in the society; &
2. the cooked up Sting Operations aimed at framing the innocents (like the recent Uma Khurana case in Delhi seems to be).

While the first type of Sting Operations are good for the society, they hardly serve their ultimate goal. We have seen that there is either no proper follow-up of the news in post-Sting Operation period or no concrete action is initiated against the defaulters. Consequently, they are eclipsed by other contemporary events. The Sting Operations have become more of money making and publicity stunts for the conducting agencies. The second type of Sting Operations are very lethal and bring sufferings to the aimed individuals and the society as a whole.

But no one can deny the fact that Sting Operations are indispensable also for the checks and balances in present society. Hence, some sort of proper legislation is the need of the hour. This will help us to reign in this necessary tool for its proper service to the society.

Some of the suggestions which I can suggest for thecause are:

1. There should be an impartial Governing Agency for the supervision of the conduct of the Sting Operations.

2. Provision should be there so that they can't be termed unconstitutional.

3. Sting Operations shouldn't be carried out without the prior permission of this Agency.

4. All the information relating to the initiation of the Sting Operation should be divulged to this Agency.

5. After the Sting Operation is over, its details should be submitted to the Agency for validating its authencity.

6. Once authenticated by the Agency, only then it can be aired via media and other procedures be initiated.

7. Those who carry out the Sting Operations should be made legally responsible for the conduct.

8. There shall be proper awards, benefits and recognition to those who carry out authentic Sting Operations.

9. Proper follow up of the post-Sting Operation period should be provided to the general masses by the media.

10. Proper care should be taken if sensitive issues are involved.

We must remember that Sting Operation is an effective tool and its good & bad use depends entirely upon its user. Be HUMANE 'n' JUST.

Do we love our India?

We all talk about Indian politics today and point out that it is suffering from:
1. Indiscipline
2. Criminalization
3. Vested Interests
4. Corruption
5. Zero Tolerance
6. …. the list is endless….

But have we ever thought about the root cause?
No.
Let me help you out.

We all know so much, we all are so wise and we all want a change…. but, unfortunately, without any effort. We sit and discuss the effects, but very few of us have the courage to spare their time (that too for our own selves and our better future) to ‘CAST VOTE’. So the manipulative politicians exploit the unaware masses and make it to the chair by hook or by crook. In a way we are actually responsible to help the Undeserved to become the rulers in this Nation. Don't you think so?
Why do we actually hesitate to exercise our power? When we know what is right and what is wrong, why don’t we go and click the right button of voting machine? Voting is the only solution to filter the Indian politics and secure a bright future for our Bharat.

Let us pledge ‘To VOTE’ and initiate an INQUILAAB (change) by sharing this awareness in the other masses also.
